  1. I love the fact that you used your actual classroom pictures. Great job of integrating the philosophers. I think we all need to remember that habits at home are not the same as what is being taught in our classrooms. I think it is this thought process that puts a little bit of a negative edge on our thoughts regarding technology in the classroom. Change is so hard for most of us and I truly believe this class has helped us deal with changing technology. This class has definitely changed the way we all think about technology in our classrooms.

  2. Amy I love how you included your classroom picture. When you showed your classroom picture at the end of your presentation I was looking for changes before you gave us the answer. Change can sometimes be difficult especially when you have several other people involved since you all need to be on the same page. Don't give up on what you believe would be best for your students and parents in order for you to run a successful classroom. Great presentation.

  3. I love that you showed us pictures of your classroom in your presentation! I agree that habits at home are not always the same as whats in the classroom. I think that was part of the reason why I was also hesitate to add more technology into my classroom. This class has really changed the way we think about technology and think of it as more of a positive addition to the room.

  4. Great job with recording your voice! I didn't realize that your school in-cooperated Montessori. I agree that with your quote of "don't be afraid of change" but technology is scary.

  5. I really love how you started the presentation with your class and ended with your class. Although not much has changed looking at your class, your mind set has changed when it comes to technology. Some of the applications you mentioned are ones that I love and will continue to use as well. Thank you for sharing : )

  8. Well done, Amy. I really liked how you started and ended your presentation with a picture of your class and how, looking at it, nothing has really changed. I do think your attitude has changed towards technology!

  9. I have to agree with everyone. Starting and ending with your classroom illustrates that change is not always something that is obvious to the eye. The first and most important change is our mindset and I think I can speak for all of us when I say this course has definitely changed the way we view technology. Great job on your presentation!

  11. I love how you talked about your class at the beginning and end of your presentation. I like how you talked about Sudra Mutra and Montessori. I wish I had mentioned them more in my presentation but it was hard to cover it all. I agree that technology should be the thought process of how the student learn and like how you mentioned modeling about how to use research on the iPad. I also agree apps should be used for organization and remind app was a good app I used in my app practical assignment. I want to look more into the clock kids countdown app and also believe students should be familiar with different cultures and have pen pals. I think small group work with technology and apps for parents is an important take away from this class. I never thought I could use technology in so many ways even at an early childhood level. Great job.

  12. Amy- Just like everyone else, I loved that you started and ended with pictures of your class. Sometimes it is not a large smart board that changes but rather just our mindset changing about it. The fear of change for a teacher to take that step towards technology is scary, but I agree that we just have to do it!

  13. Amy, I enjoyed watching your presentation. I totally agree, its not the technology itself that helps our students gain important skills. But the skills they gain through the PROCESS of using technology. Also, modeling is extremely important. Just like using scissors or reading a book, technology needs to be modeled for or young learners.

  14. Loved your comment about not being afraid of change! So true, humans are such creatures of habit but all we need is a little push which I think this class did for a lot of us!Great job!

  15. I agree with Mutra's philosophy of using one device to have students work together in small groups. This would still allow students to still work on social skills we all focus on so much in early childhood as learning how to socialize comes before any kind of academics. I also loved seeing your classroom and you did a great job narrating your presentation!

  16. Your presentation was great and showed that personal growth may be about changing your mindset and might not be able to be observed at a quick glance. You really explained how your thinking has changed over the course and I agree that using technology is more about a students thought process while they are working instead of what app they are using. Modeling the use of technology for our students like you mentioned is so important so they know how to use it appropriately. Most importantly, I agree that as teachers we need to be open to change as it is important to our personal growth!

  17. Amy just using your voice for your presentation says that you are not afraid to use technology in your classroom. I enjoyed listening to your presentation. It shows a lot of growth and change of mindset that this course has provided for all of us. I like the fact that you are employing the use of technology upon your assistants who are vital to our classrooms. your presentation tells me that you are open for change and implementing it in your professional growth.

  18. Enjoyed the pictures of your classroom, and the thought that even though the tech devices in your classroom did not change, your approach toward them did in response to this course. So true that the isolating tech habits of home are not the same as what could be taught in the classroom and the thought processes of our students are much more important than any hardware or software being used. I also appreciated your look at the integration of Mitra’s and Montessori’s philosophies. Fantastic presentation!

  19. One of my fears with technology is how it lacks in its ability to incorporate socialization and cooperative learning. Sugata Mitra's experiment showed me that technology can me a cooperative experience for children as you mentioned in your presentation.
I think it is helpful to add technology slowly as it allows time to really understand the applications before introducing it to parents and families.

  20. I enjoyed watching your presentation. You bring up some good points about not being afraid of change and about how you can expand on your iPad use to allow students to be more involved. I am going to check out the Kid World Cultures app that you mentioned. Great job!
